Risk of bias in vaccine effectiveness studies (RoB-VE): improving evidence synthesis and guideline development

Welcome to the RoB-VE project website!

We are dedicated to improving the quality and reporting of vaccine effectiveness primary studies and systematic reviews.

Our project, Standardizing and optimizing the assessment of risk of bias in vaccine effectiveness studies to improve evidence synthesis and guideline development, funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, seeks to develop a comprehensive, reliable, and user-friendly risk-of-bias assessment tool and reporting guideline tailored to vaccine effectiveness studies, with the aim of standardizing and optimizing the evaluation of vaccine effectiveness to better inform clinical and public health decision-making.

The project is led by Dr. Giorgia Sulis and Dr. Melissa Brouwers at the University of Ottawa and supported by an international team of collaborators and has received endorsements from key organizations including WAME, CIRN, CAIRE, EQUATOR, SPOR, and the WHO.

This initiative will enhance the quality and reliability of vaccine research, supporting evidence-based immunization strategies and informing public health decision-making.
